Escort Oud-Zuid:museums, money,quiet avenues
Oud-Zuid is where Amsterdam dresses up. Wide avenues, grand townhouses, the country's most famous museums and its best known luxury shopping street.
After dark it goes quiet. Properly quiet. That is exactly why people choose to stay here. Several of our companions live in the neighbourhood.

On Call In
Oud-Zuid
07 based right here. Short ride, sharp arrival.
Landmarks you already know
Museumplein is the centre of gravity: a long lawn with the Rijksmuseum at one end, the Concertgebouw at the other, and Van Gogh and the Stedelijk lined up along the side. The Concertgebouw is one of the great concert halls of the world. A few steps away, Vondelpark stretches west for well over a kilometre.
P.C. Hooftstraat runs along the top with its flagship stores. Van Baerlestraat links the museums to the park. Further south, Beethovenstraat and the Apollolaan lead toward the business towers at the edge of the city.
At night Vondelpark goes dark apart from its main paths. The streets that frame it, Overtoom to the north and Koninginneweg to the south-west, keep a few cafés going, but the tempo is slower than in the centre.
Where visitors stay
This is five-star territory. The grand hotels sit on quiet corners near the museums and along the Apollolaan, with doormen, long corridors and discreet lifts. Around Vondelpark the scale drops to elegant townhouse hotels and serviced apartments.
Business travellers working in the towers to the south often book here for the calm. So do concertgoers. So does anyone who wants the city close, but not in the room.
Big lobbies here are staffed all night. She crosses them unhurried, dressed for the address, and heads straight up.
Arrival times
Inside Oud-Zuid, plan on the hour. Companions based in the neighbourhood often move faster, and the wide streets mean a car reaches the door easily, even at 02:00.
One exception: when a big performance lets out, Van Baerlestraat fills with taxis for a while. If your evening starts after a concert, tell the desk what time it ends.
Oud-Zuid is also the quickest side of town for the A10 ring road. Clients heading on to Schiphol, or staying at the airport after a night in the city, often find their fastest option lives here.
What an Oud-Zuid night looks like
Refined, mostly. A concert at the Concertgebouw. Supper afterwards somewhere along Van Baerlestraat. One last drink in a hotel bar with deep chairs and low light. Or no plans at all: a suite, a good bottle, a conversation that runs well past two.
Expectations run higher here, and that is fine. The companions who live in Oud-Zuid know how to walk into a formal lobby like they belong in it, because they do.
Names to start with. Danielle is calm and magnetic, a lover of classic cinema and museums. Margo is refined, a touch mysterious, with a thing for contemporary art and the piano. Violetta is tall, elegant and a fan of stand-up comedy, so expect laughter. Every local companion is listed below, and the rest are on the girls page.
Across Hobbemakade lies De Pijp, livelier and louder. Rates start from €180 per hour.
